Dublin Zoo
Dublin Zoo is Located in the Phoenix Park and has always been an attraction in Dublin City. It was opened in 1830 and has a long history associated with it. Children are attracted to the impressive display enacted daily by the sea lions, while the penguins and elephants always generate major interest.

Dublin is traditionally a Viking town of "Dyflin" on the river Liffey in Ireland. See the sites, chat to the locals, take a strole and experience Viking Dublin. The Viking experience is located close to Wood Quay and contains a collection of Viking artifacts considered to be the most important Viking collection outside of Scandinavia.
The National Wax Museum
The National Wax Museum in Dublin is always a good day out for adults and kids alike. Walk through the tunnels and where children will find a World of Fairytales and Fantasy. A magical journey for children, where they will find beanstalks, genies and magic lamps. The two exits from the Wax Museum are 1. The Chamber of Horrors or 2. the Hall of the Megastars, depending on your preference either scary or the glitz and glam. There is a man reading the Irish Times in the lobby, take a good look at him!

There is a ceramics workshop called "Hey! Doodle Doodle" In Crown Alley, Temple Bar Dublin city, just a short walking distance from Globetrotters Hostel. You can create your own design on ready-made pottery supplied instore and all customers are catered for, young and old. please note all the paints used are non-toxic, so the children are safe while having fun. Globetrotters Hostel recommends a visit while staying in Dublin. What better souvenir of your trip to Dublin.
The Ark - Temple Bar
There are puppet shows in Dublin in a venue known as The Ark in temple bar where one can listen to story telling an poetry reading, a popular venue amongst guests staying in Globetrotters Hostel in Dublin City. We suggest that you book in advance to avoid disappointment, there is also an admission charge for this venue that is aimed at children between 4 and 14 years of age.
Dublin Splash Tours
Dublin splash tours are very popular with people staying in Dublin city center accommodation where they are toured around Dublin World War II amphibious vehicles known as "ducks", the "ducks" travel in land and water and visitors will see how Vikings settled in Dublin. It is a fun tour where the "Viking Captain" is dressed up in a costume and he carefully explains the history and culture of dublin in a cheerful manner. Beware, be prepared for the dives into the water at the historic grand canal basin where you will enjoy the water section of the tour.
Clara Lara
There is a popular funpark located in Clara Vale in Co. Wicklow just 40 minutes south of Globetrotters Hostel in Dublin City center. In Clara Lara one can enjoy water adventures and rafting so make sure you bring the right gear with you and a change of clothes. You can go go karting, climb frames, enjoy the highest slide in Ireland or take a turn on the Swyng boats. The Clara Lara is fully supervised by professionals at all times and there are shops and ample picnic area for families visiting Dublin

There are several leisureplex venues Located in various venues around the city, where one can enjoy has bowling, billiards, computer games and Q-zar. To locate the nearest leisureplex please ask in the Globetrotters Hostel in dublin city center
Fort Lucan
Only 15 minutes from our bed and breakfast there is an adventure centre called fort lucan where one will find a fully supervised adventure playground. In fort lucan the have a crazy golf course, trampolines and a state of the art assault course, all in all a fun day out.
Kilmainham Gaol
Rich in Irish history and culture, Kilmainham jail is the largest unoccupied jail in these islands and is a visitor centre and a major tourist attraction to visitors staying in Dublin city, it offers a panoramic view of Irish history and a remarkably chilling taste of how it was like to be incarcerated here between 1796 and 1924 when it opened an closed. Some of Irelands famous rebel leaders were imprisoned here such as Robert Emmet and Charles Stewart Parnell, as well as the names of the leaders of the 1916 rebel leaders..
The Guinness Hopstore
In Dublin the Guinness hopstore brews black beer known as stout, and has been established for over 200 years, a must see for people staying a city center accommodation. There is an exhibition of Guinness's history in a 19th century warehouse that was used for storing bales of hops, hence the name "Hopstore" up as recently as the 1950s. There is a walking tour through the brewing process at St James's Gate where illustrations of brewing techniques from past to present of arthur guinness can be experienced. Enjoy a short video presentation at the end of the tour and why not take a sample in the sampling bar where the finest pints of draft guinness are available to visitors, please not you must be over 18 to sample the guinness.
The National Gallery
In 1864 the National Gallery was opened and houses many fine art pieces. there is a strongly emphasised on Irish art balanced carefully with a representation of the major European schools of art. There are More than 600 works are on display in the gallery that was largely donated over the past few decades with special exhibitions changed on a regular basis. Admission is free but group tours should book in advance
Áras an Uachtaráin
This is where the president of Ireland is resident and was origionally built by a famous park ranger before it became resident to the viceroys who over saw colonial british rule in Ireland. Public tours are available on Saturdays, please contact the Phoenix park visitor center to get our free ticket.
The National Museum
the National Museum in Ireland is location in its capitol city Dublin and was opened in 1890 where a large number of collections merged artefacts and antiquities dating back from 2000 BC to the 20th Century. Such as a collection, Ór (Gold), from Ireland's Bronze Age representing the finest gold jewellery from prehistoric times. Most bed and breakfasts in Dublin would highly recommend a visit as you can aso see the historic Ãr Thóir na Saoirse (On The Road To Freedom) which deals with Irish history from the 1916 rising to the Irish civil war in 1922. You will find famous artifacts such as the Ardagh Chalice and the Tara Brooch.
St Patrick's Cathedral
Standing on the oldest Christian site in Dublin, St Patrick's Cathedral is of historic importance and a mojor attraction for Ireland tourism. In days gone by converts where said to be Baptised in a well close by to St. Patricks Dublin City. Since 450 AD the site has been of historic importance and the present church replaced the original building in 1191, where it became the largest church in Ireland. Some of the former presidents of Ireland have Memorials erected in their honor in the Cathedral, famous presidents such as Jonathan Swift, Erskine Childers and Douglas Hyde are all represented here.
The Hugh Lane Gallery
Funded by Dublin Corporation to host private collections of the famous art collector Sir Hugh Lane. some works of distinction by Monet, Degas, Manet and Renoir are on display here. In recent times the Francis Bacon's Reece Mews studio was newly acquired by the Hugh Lane with its faithful reconstruction of this unorthadoxed artists unique insight.
Dvblinia Heritage Centre
An interactive experience of Medieval Dublin in the former Synod hall of the Church of Ireland that takes you throughaa Journey Through Time with an audio tour (available in five languages) and takes you through colourful moments of Dublin's history. A major attraction here is a scaled model of Medieval Dublin and numerous life-sized reconstructions, one of the most famous being a 15th Century merchant's kitchen. Christ Church Cathedral is linked by a bridge at the top of St Michael's Tower to the Dvblinia experience. Dublin tourism is proud to show its visitors such unique heritage during a visit to a Dublin accommodation.
Dublin Civic Museum
The Dublin civic museum was once the city assembly house and is run by Dublin Public Libraries. There are pre-viking displays right through to the 1960's insight into Dublin its heritage, culture and history. There is a permanent collection that displays on subjects such as the Streets of dublin and its Buildings , its Traders and Industry, its Transport system and its Political heritage.
Dublin Writers Museum
Opened in 1991 the Dublin Writers Museum's purpose is to provide a place for Dublin's illustrious literary tradition and its history. Some interesting features are some of personal items, of famous literary figures including: Johnathon Swift, James Joyce, WB Yeats and Beckett. There are some out-of-print books in the bookstore with really interesting works which are not to be found in the general public.

Christ Church Cathedral
The bells of Christ Church have been ringing out since the 1400s on a regular basis for services and events in Dublin City, Ireland. There is a 12th century crypt amongst its treasures and some stunning examples in the cathedral of parish silver in Dublin.
