Location?

Globetrotters Tourist Hostel is located in the heart of historic Dublin, a short walk from the leafy Trinity College, the fashionable shopping streets, the Temple bar left bank, the International Financial Services Centre, the Point Depot, museums, art galleries, and a myriad of pubs and restaurants.

How to get here from Airport / Ferry Port / Bus Station / Train Station?

Airport – Dublin Airport is located approx. 12KM from Globetrotters Tourist Hostel / City Centre.
There are a number of ways to get to and from the airport from Globetrotters Tourist Hostel.

Taxi – Available from outside main airport terminal.
Approx. cost: 20 to 25 Euro

Air coach 24/7 – A shuttle bus that runs between the airport and busaras (Central bus station).
Approx. cost: 6 Euro

Local Bus – Leaves outside of Globetrotters Tourist Hostel every 20 minutes (6.30am to 11.30pm)
No. 41 / 41C Approx. cost: 1.60 Euro

Busaras (Central Bus Station) – Globetrotters Tourist Hostel is located right beside busaras, no more than 2 minute by foot (please look at map). All national buses, as well as all shuttle buses depart and arrive at busaras.

Ferry ports – There are 2 ferry ports in Dublin. One is located at the Alexander basin, which is 3km from Globetrotters Tourist Hostel; the other is in Dun Laioghaire, which is 20km from Globetrotters Tourist Hostel.

Dublin Port (Alexander basin) – You can get a shuttle bus from Busaras, or alternatively a taxi.

Dun Laioghaire – The ferry port is connected to the train station, catch the Dart (local train) southbound in to Dublin and depart at Connolly Station.

Train – There are 2 main train stations in Dublin.

Connolly Station – Serving all northbound trains and local Dart station. About a 5 minutes from Globetrotters Tourist Hostel by foot (please look at map).

Heuston Station – Serving all southbound trains, you can get a shuttle bus No. 90 from outside the station that will take you directly to busaras. Heuston Station is located on the far side of the city and is approx. 3km from Globetrotters Tourist Hostel.

Some more general questions.

Do I have to member of a hostelling organization to stay at Globetrotters Tourist Hostel?

No, Globetrotters Tourist Hostel welcomes one and all; the only requirement that we ask for is that you have some photo I.D. with you when checking in (passport or driving license).

When is your reception open?

We have a 24-hour reception.

Is there a Curfew / lock out?

Globetrotters Tourist Hostel is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is no lock out during the day.

Is linen provided?

Linen is provided, as are duvets and pillows.

Do you have mixed / single sex dorms?

Yes, please state your preference when making your reservation at Globetrotters Tourist Hostel

Do you have left luggage facilities?

Left luggage facilities are available free of charge on your day of arrival and departure.

Do you have car parking?

Yes, we have car parking available at Globetrotters Tourist Hostel. We do however charge 10 euro per night / day for this service.
Our car park is subject to availability.

Do you offer bike storage?

Yes we can provide bike storage in our enclosed garage.

What time is breakfast?

Breakfast is served between 7am and 9am Saturday and Sunday and until 10am all other days.

What’s for breakfast?

Full Irish breakfast, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash brown, tomatoes, baked beans, cereals, fruit salad, a selection of breads and tea/ coffee and a selection of juice.
Plenty of choice for vegetarians also.

What time is check in / check out time?

Check in time is 2pm and check out time is 11am, we also have left luggage facilities at no charge.

Do you have Internet access?

Yes, in reception.

Are you a member of the IHH?

Yes.

Can we pre-book other IHH Hostels at your reception?

Yes we can gladly pre-book other Hostels for you on your arrival with us.

What is your maximum stay?

There is maximum stay of 7 days at Globetrotters Tourist Hostel.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your reservation at Globetrotters Tourist Hostel any time 48 hours prior to arrival without any charge, any later than 48 hours and we will charge for your first night’s accommodation.

What methods of payments do you accept?

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Laser and cash.

What about my valuables?

Safety deposit boxes are available at reception.

Do I need to bring my own towel?

You can bring your own towel or hire one from reception for a small fee.

Do you have book exchange or tourist information available?

Yes we have a book exchange and plenty of tourist information available in our reception; the closest tourist office is just around the corner from our house.

Do you have a garden?

Yes we have a small Japanese style garden where you can enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner.

We also provide complimentary tea and coffee to all our guests.
